What is the General Plan?

Hemet’s General Plan provides a snapshot of Hemet today, a vision for Hemet tomorrow, development policy guidance for decision-makers, and a work program that outlines the steps required to get from today to tomorrow. To respond to physical, environmental, economic, social, and demographic changes in the community, the City has embarked on an exciting process to update the General Plan. More about the General Plan.

How can I get Involved?

In order to accomplish this very important mission, the City has crafted a public outreach program to learn from community experts – those who live, work and play in Hemet. Several workshops and public open houses will be held in coming months to discuss various aspects of the General Plan program. Members of the public are encouraged to attend these meetings and offer their perspectives on Hemet’s future. Opportunities for public comment will be available at all General Plan meetings.

Check back here frequently to learn about the latest news regarding the General Plan and on upcoming community workshops and events. We look forward to your participation in contributing to the General Plan!
